Campaign Story

* Typical cost of capstone projects (including registrations, travel and supplies) is about $1200.
* I am trying to raise $600 as family and school will cover the rest.

Goals for My Fundraiser:

Supporting my capstone project

*** I plan to pursue the project though participation in TSA activities like competitions and community service. ***

The Technology Student Association (TSA) is a national Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) that helps students explore STEM through hands-on projects, competitions, and leadership opportunities.

What is ‘Team Dynamics & Social Reform Symposium’

A collaborative symposium that gathers student-athletes, coaches, and community leaders to discuss team dynamics and inspire social reform within athletics.

Components:

Event planning

Panel discussions

Interactive workshops

Consensus-building activities

Emphasizing delegation and attentive listening.

Why I am pursuing this project (My why)

  1. I am a ‘Relationship Builder’ personality type person with strong ‘advocate’ business potential.
  2. I’m a total sports nerd and history buff, especially when it comes to team dynamics. So, I’m working on this cool project where I get to be a Sports Analyst and fight for social change in the world of sports. I hope this will not only make sports fairer, but also help people see the importance of spiritual truth and family values..

My plan of action: Competitions and Activities

Career Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs) to join:

TSA – A CTSO that develops technical skills and project management expertise, aligning with the student’s analytical strengths and interest in systematic change.

FBLA – A CTSO focused on business leadership, offering experience in strategic planning, networking, and resource management, which supports the student’s advocate leadership style.

Competitions

TSA – Software Development

This introductory TSA competition fosters creativity in designing social impact software that communicates team dynamics and social reform messages, aligning with the symposium’s goals.

TSA – Digital Video Production

As an introductory competition, it offers a platform to craft compelling visual stories that can highlight themes of social reform and team dynamics, essential for the symposium.

FBLA – Business Ethics

This advanced FBLA competition challenges students to analyze and present ethical solutions in business contexts, which mirrors the strategic discussions inherent to social reform and team dynamics.

FBLA – Community Service Project

This advanced project engages students with their community directly, providing an opportunity to implement and demonstrate the skills cultivated through their CTSO competitions in a real-world setting.

Community Service:

Atlanta Youth Empowerment Workshop

Why it fits: Located in zip code 30307, this community service activity allows students to work directly with local youth, applying skills from their competitions to empower and educate peers on social reform.

Implementation: Plan and host interactive workshops in a local community center where students facilitate team-building exercises, discussions on social issues, and creative solution sessions, with preparation starting in the fall and execution in the spring semester.

Skills Development: Public speaking, mentorship, community organizing, leadership
